Reservation Policy for Optimist Charters:

1. Booking a charter on the website does NOT GUARANTEE a boat.  No charter is final until we have run your credit card for the full amount of the charter and sent you a charter confirmation by email.  DO NOT BOOK YOUR AIRLINE FLIGHTS UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION EMAIL.   
2. Your charter is refundable up to 14 days before the event.  After our equipment has left Sturgis Boat Works for the regatta, there are no refunds under any circumstance.
3. Your credit card is your damage deposit.  You are responsible for any and all damage to the boat, regardless of fault.  If you are not at fault, it is your responsibility to pay Sturgis Boat Works, you must seek payment from the party at fault independently.  In the case of major damage, you will be charged the cost of the repair PLUS the depreciation of the boat.  In the event of loss or theft, you will be charged the replacement value of the boat.
